Choir & Church Organ

Choir

The choir standing in front of the altar.

We have a robed choir, affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM - http://www.rscm.com.) We have about 15 regular members, predominantly upper voices (sopranos and altos) but also some tenors. We need at least one bass to complete the traditional four voices!

The choir sings at the 10.00 Sung Eucharist on Sundays and at special weekday services on special occasions such as Maundy Thursday or Ascension Day. We also sing at many of the numerous weddings at the church, and join with other choirs in the area for special joint services. We also participate in the annual RSCM Area Festival at Canterbury Cathedral.

New members are always welcome: for further information please contact the organist and choirmaster Mr. Duncan Finn. Choir practice is held at 7.30 pm on most Fridays.

Organ

Organ pipes.

The organ is a small 2 manual Walker (http://www.jwwalker.co.uk) organ installed in 1879 and restored with minor modifications during the 20th century. It has a fine tone and is amplified to ensure that the sound reaches all parts of the building. A full specification may be seen at the National Pipe Organ Register.
